Simply Pibroch

Here is a music book for pipers who would like to play Piobaireachd the Classical music of the Highland Bagpipe but have not had the advance training necessary for playing the embellishments which occur in this music throughout. I have simplified the technique by substituting embellishments found in light music so that anyone who can play Scotland the Brave or Amazing Grace can become familiar with these beautiful melodies which have been handed down through the ages. The tunes in this collection are a sort of Readers Digest version designed to wet the appetite of players who normally play in marching bands and wouldn't normally be exposed to Solo Piping of this sort. An audio CD of the tunes is included so that the piper can easily interpret the scores in the book. The music playing in the background is a sound clip from the CD of the first part of "The Lament for Donald of Laggan", the third tune in the book.
