Karen - vocals & guitar -a sweet sounding world class singer who also writes and teaches. In 2001 she produced a CD of original compositions under her own label, Boottrack Productions. Karen's vocal style is flavoured by her Canadian folk & country roots. She has shared the stage with such performers as Stan Rogers and Charlie Bell, opened for Mose Scarlett and has performed in numerous festivals across Canada.

Jan - guitar and bass - his smooth rhythmic sound is influenced by artists like Chet Atkins, Lenny Breau and Joe Pas. Has performed with countless artists & bands over the years. Jan is founder and past-president of the Canadian Guitar Players Association - a 2000 member professional organization which strives to advance the Canadian guitar playing community. In addition to member services it donates guitars to children in Canada's Arctic communities.

We started playing together in a 5 piece band called West of the Checkerboard which composed tunes of local historical interest. As a duo we now play about 100 shows per year. Friends tell us that we bring a fresh synergy with our music. They say that together with Karen’s sweet vocals and Jan’s smooth guitar style we deliver a classy professional performance which is enjoyed by all.
