Welcome to
Ontario's newest Blue
Knights. On July 28, 2005 the Kawartha Chapter, Ontario XV received
our charter with a total of 24 members. (One year later our
membership has increased to 38). We are members of the
Great Lakes
Conference and our Chapter is located in the beautiful
Kawartha Lakes & Haliburton Highlands,
Ontario, Canada. This conference joins 7 US States and Canadian
Provinces together to represent one of the largest geographical areas in
the world. We have 84 Chapters, holding 2,753 members as of August 2005. We hope that you enjoy your stay and come back soon.
The
Blue Knights is a non profit, International fraternal organization,
consisting of law enforcement officers and their families who are motorcycle
enthusiasts. For the most part, any police officer or law enforcement
officer can join the Blue Knights. You do not have to be a motor-officer or
ride a motorcycle while on duty to join. You can fight crime all day in
plain clothes if you like and still enjoy the friendship of other Blue
Knights. RANK has no privileges with us. From Constable to Chief of
Police, we are all the same enjoying friendship and camaraderie.
As of
November 2005
we have 19,338 members, with 565 Chapters in 28 Countries.
Our Mission
As a non
profit organization, we frequently raise funds for charity. Of course, we
ride our motorcycles to these events. We don't care what you ride, as long
as you ride! On many occasions we visit other chapters and participate in
their events. This site has taken the attitude that ALL Blue Knight
functions are important to display to members. See the
Local Schedule page for all Chapter
XV local
rides and events.
Many Blue Knights work long and hard to raise money for
various charities. Especially near to our hearts is helping children.
Make-a-Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, D.A.R.E., and Concerns of Police
Survivors are some examples of our favorites.
From September 1, 1991 to
December 31, 2005 Blue Knights have donated to
numerous charities; contributing time in the amount of 152,248 man hours,
goods with an estimated value of $513,079.63 and $4,578,167.50 in cash (USD).
