ATOM TRAVEL RAMS
Well it looks like more hardware for our Rams. The Atom Travel Rams are the SWOMHL Champions for 2006/2007. After having what can only be described as an uphill year the Atoms just kept getting better and better. With a slow start in October and November the team started to pick up momentum in December and January. Having come in second place in the South Huron Tournament it looked like they were turning the corner. Coming into the close of the season the Atoms were peaking at the right time. Finishing the season with an undeafeated run they went into the playoffs on fire. They swept through the playoffs with only one loss and qualified for the Day of Champions against a well know rival Wallaceburg. These two teams met several times during the year and in every game the Rams had the lead but could not finish and either lost or tied in every meeting. But it was not to be this time, with a stellar goaltending performance by Ryan Gignac, and a huge defensive effort from the only goal scorer of the day, Lachlan Coulter. The Rams were able to beat Wallaceburg 1-0 to claim the title. It was an excellent game, and everyone was on the edge of their seats but the boys prevailed. We would just like to thank all of the parents, coaches and players that helped to make this year such a success. Without the harmony off the ice, in the dressing and on the ice this team would not have experienced such success.
