MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 2004.THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY OUR PRESIDENT, MIKE COX AT 7:05 PM.

 

THOSE IN ATTENDENCE WERE MIKE COX, MIKE SHEPLEY, BOB DESLIPPE, JOANNNE TARI, JOHN TARI, BARRY MANNELL, KEVIN SWARTS, DENNIS SWARTS, JOHN ZAVITZ, JEFF BRIMNER, CAROLINE RICHARDSON, JOE LAINO AND JEN WESTFALL.

 

ABSENT FROM THIS MEETING WAS TIM MCDONALD.

 

MOTION to accept the minutes of the previous meeting, held on Wednesday February 11, 2004, as circulated, made by Bob Deslippe and seconded by Jeff Brimner. CARRIED.

 

GUESTS: Dave and Sherry Carr were in attendance to discuss their son’s refund with us. After some discussion, it was decided that they would receive their refund as requested, due to the fact that the final changes made to our refund outline, were not finalized until January.

 

CORRESPONDENCE:

The Town of Essex sent us a Reminder Notice for our lottery report. We also received final word concerning the status of Ryan Varney and his refund (originally dated November 28, 2003)

MOTION made to pay this refund, made by Bob Deslippe and seconded by Joanne Tari. CARRIED.

 

BILLS:

OMHA Playdown fees- Juvenile Semi-finals ($58.33), OMHA Playdown fees- Bantam Semi-finals ($87.50), Phone ($64.51), K of C- ice ($640.35), Town of Essex- January ice ($13821.48), Harrow News- registration & Annual Meeting ($96.30), Bob Deslippe- mileage ($312.00), Tim Horton’s- Joanne- Annual meeting ($41.29), Juvenile Championship Banner ($345.00), Hockey Mom’s- fundraiser split ($2500.00), Referee’s- until end of season ($4024.00)

MOTION made to pay these bills (ice to be paid once verified) made by Bob Deslippe and seconded by John Tari. CARRIED.

 

TRAVEL CONVENOR’S REPORT:

Day of Champions will be held on Sunday, April 4, 2004 in Tecumseh.

 

LOCAL LEAGUE CONVENOR”S REPORT:

Day of Champions will be in Belle River on March 28, 2004. It looks like we will have 2 to 4 teams going (Atom to Bantam).

New sponsor bars are needed for Paroian Law.

MOTION made by Joe Laino and seconded by Kevin Swarts, to look into doing a Juvenile House. They would not be in interlock, but if there are other centres with this same possibility we would have games against them. CARRIED.

NOVICE CONVENOR’S REPORT:

Day of Champions will be on March 26, 2004.

 

CLINIC CONVENOR’S REPORT:

Dennis is looking into holding an Intermediate Coaching clinic (Level 2) in our centre.

 

GIRLS’ REPORT:

The Intermediate Girls are in a tournament this weekend (March 12-14).

 

ICE CONVENOR’S REPORT:

There was $160.00 handed in for Saturday ice that was used.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

There are 2 Travel Teams in the Finals. After some discussion, it was decided to hire and pay for their buses.

MOTION made by Mike Cox and seconded by Mike Shepley to pay for the buses. CARRIED.

There are still some problems that need to be ironed out with our Bingo’s. Changes are being made and we will receive an update at a later meeting.
