MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2004. THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY OUR PRESIDENT, MIKE COX AT 7:17 PM.

 

THOSE IN ATTENDENCE WERE MIKE TOMEK, CAROLINE RICHARDSON, MIKE COX, JOANNE TARI, JOE LAINO, MIKE SHEPLEY, KEVIN SWARTS, DENNIS SWARTS, BERNIE ETHIER AND JEN WESTFALL.

 

ABSENT FROM THIS MEETING WAS JOHN TARI, JOHN ZAVITZ, MIKE RYAN AND SEAN PERCY.

 

MOTION to accept the minutes of the previous meeting, held on August 12, 2004, as circulated, made by Mike Tomek and seconded by Caroline Richardson. CARRIED.

 

CORRESPONDENCE:

The Town of Kingsville sent us a cheque to cover ice used last season for the Rusty Blades Tournament ($228.14), Southpointe also sent us the payment to cover the damage to the glass, during a Midget game ($88.37).

 

BILLS:

Patio Palace- raffle barbecue ($460.00), O.M.H.A. insurance ($10759.44), fax ($25.46), payout to Rick Reh for D.J. services ($770.00), REFUNDS: Kaylee Faucher, Michael McDonald.

There is also an outstanding accounting bill from Graham, Setterington, McIntosh, Driedger & Hicks, in the amount of $267.50 that will be paid by the Bingo.

MOTION to pay the bills made by Joanne Tari and seconded by Mike Tomek.

 

TRAVEL CONVENOR’S REPORT:

S.W.O.M.H.L. has a meeting on September 9, 2004.

 

LOCAL LEAGUE CONVENOR’S REPORT:

All of our levels are full except for the pre-novice.

If we max out with our numbers, travel will have to be obligated to take 17 players.

MOTION made to accept this obligation for the Travel coaches to take 17 players made by Joe Laino and seconded by Mike Cox. Opposed by Mike Tomek and Mike Shepley. CARRIED.

Joanne attended an information meeting held for Board Executives; some of the suggestions that were made included calling our Constitution & By-Laws, our By-Laws & Rules of Operations.

It was also suggested that we post a map of boundaries and that we specify reasons for any members in good standing. There were some other suggestions made that we will look into at another meeting.

Finally, we will require police checks every three (3) years.

 

 

 

EQUIPMENT CONVENOR’S REPORT:

Jerseys have been ordered through Laser Art. The cost will be approximately $2208.00, and 25 water bottles have also been ordered.

 

CLINIC CONVENOR’S REPORT:

Dennis is looking into our Centre holding a SpeakOut clinic here, besides the clinics already in place.

 

GIRLS REPORT:

There is room in all levels except for the Intermediate level.

There is a $60.00 association fee for the 2 new teams. There is also a scheduling meeting on September 22, 2004 in Tilbury.

The Girls now carry a total of 66 teams, up from the 55 teams last season.
